About The Position

A Certified Nursing Assistant is responsible and accountable for assisting the RN or LPN in patient care. The role also assists with gathering information to support the RN/LPN in implementing patient care. This position is on the Cardiac Step Down unit, works nights, and is part-time. Qualified candidates may receive a sign-on bonus of up to $3,000, paid over 24 months.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Florida C.N.A. license.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.

Nice To Haves

• Prior acute-care experience.
• Prior patient-care experience.
• Formal Certified Nurse’s Aide training.

Responsibilities

• Report for scheduled shifts on time and prepared to assume responsibilities.
• Attend and participate in meetings and take responsibility for information communicated at meetings.
• Adhere to Corporate, Regional, hospital, and departmental policies and procedures.
• Assist patients, family members, physicians, visitors, and employees in a professional and courteous manner.
• Follow infection control procedures.
• Follow safety policies and procedures, including use of MSDS sheets, hazardous-material procedures, and safety codes.
• Demonstrate knowledge of security issues, including personal protection and protection of personnel and hospital property.
• Adhere to environmental care standards.
• Adapt to varied age-specific patient populations.
• Assist the RN or LPN in patient care and gather information to support implementation of patient care.
