Nurse Assistant - 4 S Cardiac Step-Down

About The Position

Under the direct supervision of a Nurse, the Nurse Assistant contributes to patient-centered care by performing selected day-to-day patient care activities and maintaining an environment that supports patient well-being. The role demonstrates unit- or area-designated competencies and interacts with patients in consideration of their developmental, age-specific, cultural, and spiritual preferences. The position is in the 4 S Cardiac Step-Down department. The scheduled shift is 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with 72 scheduled hours per biweekly pay period.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Six months of job-related experience and/or training.
BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or Canadian equivalent.

Responsibilities

Perform specific patient care interventions as delegated by the RN to help identify and attain treatment goals.
Provide compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
Provide physical support with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, showering, feeding, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing, or exercising.
Ensure compliance with health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment and protect patients and employees by following infection-control, hazardous-waste, and other policies and protocols.
Perform other related job duties as requested.
