About The Position

Presbyterian Healthcare Services is seeking a Charge RN for its specialized Vascular Progressive Care Unit. This is an opportunity for a skilled nurse to take a first step into leadership. Under the direction of the Nursing Director, the Charge RN works with the Department RN Manager and RN Assistant Manager as part of the management and leadership team, providing clinical and operational shift supervision of care processes. The role may also provide direct patient care.

The unit provides patient-centered care for people undergoing cardiothoracic and vascular procedures, including surgical interventions, as well as general progressive care. It is a fast-paced environment where patients require 24-hour complex care and continuous cardiac monitoring. The unit currently has 24 beds, with expansion planned to 36 beds across two units.

This is a full-time, 0.90 FTE, non-exempt position working 12-hour night shifts at 1100 Central Ave SE, Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Requirements

• One year of bedside nursing experience.
• Associate Degree in Nursing.
• State of New Mexico or Compact State nursing license.
• BLS certification required at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical and operational shift supervision of care processes.
• Oversee patient flow, patient care experiences, quality processes, and patient safety.
• Direct unit staff in designated service areas.
• May provide direct patient care.
