About The Position

Visiting Angels of Evansville is hiring a full-time Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) to support elderly and home-care clients throughout the local area, including Vanderburgh, Princeton, Mt. Vernon, and Newburgh. CNAs help clients remain at home or recover at home with dignity. Visits vary by client, and caregivers are expected to combine competency, compassion, and professional judgment. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent time-management skills.
Reliable transportation to client visits.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks.
Must pass a background check and drug screen.
Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response.
A heart for vulnerable people and a desire to provide meaningful companionship.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Perform light housekeeping.
Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals.
Prompt clients to take prescription medications at the appropriate times.
Help clients shop and put away groceries, or shop on their behalf.
Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients, based on client ability.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation, including getting around the home, attending doctor visits, and taking walks.
Act quickly in medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances.
