About The Position

A respected health organization in Johnstown is seeking an experienced Locum Tenens Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to provide comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care. This assignment offers competitive compensation, flexible scheduling, and the opportunity to support a busy practice serving a diverse patient population. The role involves providing full-scope midwifery care, including prenatal visits, labor & delivery management, postpartum care, and routine GYN services. The CNM will manage low-risk pregnancies, collaborate with physicians on high-risk cases, perform well-woman exams, contraception counseling, and preventive health screenings. Duties also include conducting patient assessments, developing care plans, ensuring continuity of care, supporting laboring patients through evidence-based, patient-centered care, and accurately documenting patient encounters while maintaining compliance with facility standards. Collaboration with Ob/Gyn physicians, nurses, doulas, and support staff is essential. The annual patient volume is 1,200, and duties include assessing, diagnosing, monitoring, promoting health and protection from disease, and managing care for adolescent and adult patients. Care may be provided in an ICU setting.

Requirements

  • Active Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) credential
  • Current state RN and APRN licenses (or ability to obtain)
  • Experience in full‑scope midwifery required
  • Strong labor & delivery, clinical assessment, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment
  • Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain)
  • Must be board-certified

Responsibilities
