About The Position

The Certified Nursing Aide is responsible for providing routine daily nursing care to assigned patients to assure patient safety and attain or maintain the highest practicable physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being of each patient in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, and MUSC Health standards. The role reports to the unit nurse.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a State-approved CNA program
  • Currently registered/licensed in applicable State and maintain an active license in good standing
  • CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation, and remain current
  • Patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm
  • Willingness to handle difficult patients
  • Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
  • Knowledgeable of nursing practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines governing nursing functions in the post-acute care facility
  • Ability to implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the nursing department
  • Proficient in all applicable competency areas
  • Maintains professional working relationships with all care team members, vendors, etc.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all proprietary and/or confidential information
  • Understands and follows company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
  • Displays integrity and professionalism by adhering to MUSC Health’s Code of Conduct and completes mandatory Code of Conduct and other appropriate compliance training
  • Completion of accredited basic nursing assistant program
  • South Carolina Nurse Aide Certification Required

  • One (1) year geriatric nursing experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Communicating and functioning productively on an interdisciplinary team
  • Reading, writing, speaking, and understanding the English language
