About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant cares for residents’ personal needs and comfort and performs routine duties within the limits of their training and certification while caring for long-term care residents. Care is provided under the supervision of an RN and/or LPN. The role also performs other duties related to this work.

Requirements

• Complete an approved nursing assistant course. Facility non-licensed staff enrolled in a nurse aide training and competency evaluation program approved by the S.C. Department of Health and Human Services and who have worked in the facility for four months or less are exempt from Section 603.C.
• Have clinical experience in a certified nursing assistant program.
• Be able to follow directions and perform work according to department standards.
• Exhibit mature behavior and be able to function effectively under stress.
• Hold valid South Carolina Nurses Aide certification.
• Maintain current BLS certification, renewed biannually.
• Not be listed on the SC Abuse Registry.

Nice To Haves

• At least one year of experience in a hospital, nursing home, or medically related environment.
