About The Position

The Certified Nurse Aide works under the direct supervision of licensed nursing staff to provide direct patient care in accordance with established hospital policies, procedures, and protocols. This position is in the CPH West 2 department at Canton Potsdam and is scheduled for 22.5 hours per week, evenings from 3–11 p.m., with rotating weekends.

Requirements

• Current, unrestricted New York State Nurse Aide Certification, or an unofficial transcript showing successful completion with a letter grade of B or better in a Nursing 101 course from an accredited nursing school program where activities of daily living are taught, along with the course syllabus as evidence.
• BLS certification is required within three months of hire.
• If not certified, remain enrolled in the nursing school program while employed as a nurse aide. If no longer a student before graduation, the employee may not continue working until certified as a Certified Nurse Aide in New York State. The employee has six months to become certified or will be considered ineligible for employment and terminated.

• Report patient conditions directly to licensed nursing staff to support positive patient outcomes.
