About The Position

The Certified Nurse Aide works under the direct supervision of licensed nursing staff to provide direct patient care in accordance with established hospital policies, procedures, and protocols. This position is in the Med Surg/West 2 department at Canton Potsdam Hospital and has 15 scheduled hours per week, consisting of 7.5-hour day shifts with a weekend requirement.

Requirements

• Current, unrestricted New York State Nurse Aid Certification, or an unofficial transcript showing successful completion with a letter grade of B or better of a Nursing 101 course from an accredited nursing school program where activities of daily living are taught, along with the course syllabus as evidence.
• BLS is required within three months of hire.
• If not certified, the employee must remain enrolled in a nursing school program while employed as a nurse aide. If the employee ceases to be a student before graduation, they cannot continue working until certified as a Certified Nurse Aide in New York State. The employee has six months to become certified or will be considered ineligible for employment and terminated.
