About The Position
Dubuque Specialty Care, an 84-bed long-term care skilled nursing community in Dubuque, Iowa, is hiring a Certified Nurse Aide. This is a full-time evening position with every other weekend. The role supports residents with daily living and health needs, offers companionship, and helps maintain a safe, engaging care environment. Care Initiatives operates more than 40 skilled nursing communities throughout Iowa and emphasizes inclusive, equitable, and welcoming workplaces.
Requirements
- Active Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification in Iowa, or the ability to activate certification.
- Strong commitment to resident care, professionalism, and teamwork.
- Compassionate, patient, and respectful demeanor.
Responsibilities
- Support residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
- Provide emotional support and companionship while fostering a positive and engaging environment.
- Communicate with residents, families, and the healthcare team.
- Monitor residents’ health, including conducting routine vital checks.
- Encourage and facilitate recreational and therapeutic activities to support residents’ health and daily routines.
- Follow infection control protocols to help maintain a clean and safe environment.
