About The Position

Parrish & Heimbecker, Limited (P&H) has an opportunity for a motivated, forward-thinking, and dedicated individual as a Certified Millwright for our Milling division based in Saskatoon, SK. P&H is the largest Canadian-owned milling company. The P&H Milling Group sources wheat from Western Canada, Ontario, Quebec, and Atlantic Canada to produce quality flour and cereal products. The lineup includes hard red spring wheat flour for breads and other bakery products, soft winter wheat flour for cakes and cookies, as well as semolina flour for pasta, organic flour, and atta flour for chappati. In our specialty milling operation in Saskatoon, we also mill pea fractions. From its mills in Halifax, Nova Scotia; Acton, Hanover, Hamilton, and Cambridge, Ontario; Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; and Lethbridge, Alberta, the P&H Milling Group supplies flour to customers throughout Canada, the United States, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Iceland, and Pacific Rim countries.

Requirements

  • Journeyman/Red Seal trades certification as Millwright
  • Experience in fabricating and welding
  • Able to work in environments subject to dust allergens and higher temperatures as well as in all outside weather conditions.
  • Understanding and working knowledge of quality control practices and procedures as per BRCGS regulations.
  • Physically fit with the ability to safely lift 25kg.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Dependable with the ability to work with an on-call schedule.
  • Previous experience (ideally in flour mill operations) which include elevators, conveyors, rotary valves, compressors, blowers, fans, grinders, electric motors, gearboxes, filtration equipment, and packaging equipment.
  • Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Working knowledge of CMMS

Responsibilities

  • Conducting routine preventative maintenance, service, repair, and maintenance of plant and facilities equipment in a safe and efficient working manner.
  • Maintaining the safety and reliability of machinery and equipment is critical in achieving optimal production efficiency of the plant operations and production.
  • Assemble, align, dismantle and position stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment according to specifications.
  • Inspect, diagnose and repair malfunctioning machinery and equipment.
  • Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery.
  • Use precision measuring and installation tools such as micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, feeler gauges, torque wrenches, etc.
  • Troubleshooting and repair of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • Perform general facility maintenance.
  • Complete and comply with all health, safety and food safety training relating to the job.
  • Ability to complete fall arrest, forklift, telehandler, and arial work platform training.
