About The Position

Broadway Cityview is recruiting a PRN Certified Medication Aide. The CMA assists with medication administration under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse and supports licensed nursing staff by performing routine nursing duties and activities of daily living. The role involves providing resident care, carrying out assigned treatments and procedures, documenting observations and care, and maintaining residents’ rooms.

Requirements

• Successfully complete a State-approved geriatric nursing assistant training program.
• Be registered with the State registry.
• Successfully complete the State-approved Medicine Aide Course and, when applicable, the continuing education course.
• Understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic.
• Be able to document care given.
• Provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or apply for and receive an approved exemption as a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Prior geriatric nursing aide experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with dressing, grooming, eating, bathing, positioning, turning, toileting, and exercising.
• Give treatments, perform tests, carry out procedures, and collect specimens as instructed.
• Report and record observations and results of treatments, tests, procedures, and specimens when indicated.
• Transfer, transport, and escort residents as needed.
• Answer signal lights promptly.
• Change bed linens, make beds, and keep rooms clean and orderly.
• Safely prepare, administer, and chart oral, topical, and suppository medications.
• Check and prepare each medication dose immediately before administration.
