Certified Medication Aide
About The Position
Interim HealthCare is hiring a Certified Medication Aide to support residents in long-term care facilities and assisted living communities. The role involves administering medications, monitoring residents’ well-being, and ensuring safe, accurate medication management in accordance with physician orders, care plans, facility policies, and applicable state regulations. The position may include PRN, part-time, or full-time contract schedules, with day, evening, and night shifts available through a scheduling app. The company describes itself as a family-owned, women-owned, and veteran-owned provider of home care and healthcare staffing services.
Requirements
- Active Certified Medication Aide certification in South Dakota, or ability to obtain certification through reciprocity or endorsement, as applicable.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Ability to adapt to different facility environments, care plans, and resident needs.
- Must maintain all required certifications, credentials, and professional standards.
- Must meet applicable facility-specific requirements and complete required pre-employment screenings and onboarding procedures.
Nice To Haves
- Previous Medication Aide experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications in accordance with physician orders, individual care plans, facility policies, and applicable state regulations.
- Accurately document medication administration and maintain medication records.
- Monitor residents for medication reactions and changes in condition.
- Maintain proper medication storage, organization, and inventory.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living as needed.
- Provide compassionate care while promoting residents’ comfort, dignity, and independence.
- Follow infection prevention protocols, medication safety procedures, and facility policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of certification.
