About The Position

The Certified Medication Aide works under the direction of the Charge Nurse to administer prescription medication and perform other duties. The aide is responsible for maintaining full knowledge of their duties, responsibilities, and accountability, and for acting in accordance with laws governing medication administration by certified medication aides. The aide documents in the medical record and maintains confidentiality.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience as a CNA/STNA.
• Completion of an Ohio Board of Nursing-approved Medication Aide Training Program.
• Active, unrestricted Medication Aide Certification from the Ohio Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescription medication under the direction of the Charge Nurse.
• Perform other assigned duties.
• Maintain knowledge of duties, responsibilities, and accountability and comply with laws governing medication administration by certified medication aides.
• Document in the medical record.
• Maintain confidentiality.
