About The Position
Tuscany Village Nursing Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, is hiring full-time Certified Medication Aides to provide resident care. The role administers oral and topical medications as ordered by a physician, under the supervision of a licensed nurse and in accordance with applicable state and federal regulations and facility policies. Certified Medication Aides are part of a multidisciplinary team supporting the facility’s clinical care, rehabilitation, wellness, and supportive services.
Requirements
- State certification as a nurse aide.
- State-approved medication administration certification.
- Complete familiarity with the duties of a certified nurse aide.
- Highly developed observation skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications as ordered by a physician under the supervision of a licensed nurse, following state and federal regulations and facility policy.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the five rights of medication administration.
- Record the administration of medications and/or treatments appropriately.
- Observe for and report medication reactions and side effects to a licensed nurse on the appropriate shift.
- Administer PRN medications in accordance with state and federal regulations and facility policy.
