About The Position

We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to provide nursing care in Tallahassee, FL. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with two shift options: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM or 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM. The role involves a variety of patient care duties, assisting practitioners, and maintaining medical equipment and supplies.

Requirements

2 years documented experience as a Medical Assistant.
Graduated from an accredited Medical Assistant school or program.
Current certification as a Medical Assistant in the State of Florida.
Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certified, in accordance with the American Heart Association Basic Life Support.
Must identify the individual selected to perform these services at the time of quotation submission.
Submit evidentiary documentation (resume) of education, qualifications, and certifications.

Responsibilities

Provide nursing care to include taking and recording patient history and vital signs.
Make appointments and assist Mid-Level Practitioners and physicians in clinical activities.
Perform venipuncture from patients for analysis or other medical purposes.
Collect and process urinalysis.
Adhere to infection control policies and procedures.
Operate EKG and laboratory equipment.
Screen for gross mood changes and provide basic first aid, prevention care, and guidance in treating common illnesses/injuries.
Triage sick-call complaints and refer to RN or APP as appropriate.
Perform duties commensurate with educational preparation, training, experience, and licensure laws.
Operate EKG machine and other special medical apparatus and equipment.
Assist providers in the urgent care room when necessary.
Perform general medical assistant duties.
Maintain supplies in all exam rooms.
Perform screening eye exams and assist physicians and mid-level practitioners in minor surgical cases.
Maintain daily sick call list and place patients on call out as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
