About The Position

Rite of Passage Team is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant at Lava Heights Academy in Toquerville, Utah and Falcon Ridge Ranch in Virgin, Utah. Lava Heights Academy and Falcon Ridge Ranch are residential treatment programs that provide a safe, supportive and nurturing environment for vulnerable young women who are referred from juvenile courts and social service agencies both locally and across the country. The youth enter the program with a history of abuse, neglect, trauma, substance abuse, mental illness and violence. They graduate from Falcon Ridge Ranch as educated young women who have overcome challenges and have demonstrated making healthy choices for themselves and for their future. After 40 years of improving the lives of youth, we are looking for passionate advocates to continue the legacy of helping young people become successful adults. Requirements

• Be empathetic, patient, consistent, and compassionate.
• Have an honest work ethic, and treat others with respect.
• Have a Certification as a Medical Assistant.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Have a HS Diploma.
• Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test.
• Be able to pass a search of the child abuse central registry.

Responsibilities

• Working as a staff member of the Student Services team.
• Serving as an assistant to the entire Student Health Services Department.
• Coordinating the flow of students to be seen by the health care professionals within program.
• Coordinating the scheduling of students to be seen by outside health care professionals.
• Conducting student medical appointment transports when necessary.
