About The Position

Florida ENT & Allergy, a division of ENT and Allergy Associates of Florida, is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for a full-time position at its Riverview office. The practice provides comprehensive general and subspecialty ENT medical and surgical care, including diagnosis and rehabilitative services. This role is suited to an experienced Medical Assistant who is comfortable with in-office procedures, can manage a high volume of incoming patients, and is motivated to learn across the ENT, Allergy, and Audiology fields. The position may also require travel between ENTAAF offices to provide support.

Requirements

• At least one year of hands-on Medical Assistant experience.
• Current certification.
• Comfort assisting with surgical procedures.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and a clear speaking voice.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to interact professionally with patients, physicians, and team members.
• EMR experience.
• Strong computer literacy.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Answer patient calls.
• Take patient vital signs.
• Obtain authorizations.
• Schedule diagnostic tests and surgery.
• Prepare examination rooms.
• Assist physicians in examination rooms with procedures as needed, including wax removal, biopsies, and surgical procedures.
• Obtain proper consent and ensure the proper scope of practice is followed.
• Call in prescriptions.
• Clean and sterilize instruments in accordance with CDC and ENTAAF guidelines.
• Brief the physician on each patient before the physician enters the examination room.
