About The Position

Florida ENT & Allergy, a division of ENT and Allergy Associates of Florida, is hiring a full-time Certified Medical Assistant for its Riverview office. The practice provides general and subspecialty ENT medical and surgical care, including diagnosis and rehabilitative services. This role is suited to an experienced medical assistant who is comfortable with in-office procedures, can manage a high volume of incoming patients, and is motivated to learn across the ENT, Allergy, and Audiology fields.

Requirements

• At least one year of hands-on medical assistant experience.
• Current medical assistant certification.
• Comfort assisting with surgical procedures.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and a clear speaking voice.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Ability to interact professionally with patients, physicians, and team members at all times.
• EMR experience.
• Strong computer literacy.
• Ability to perform the physical demands of the role, including lifting up to 25 pounds and assisting patients with transfers when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Answer patient calls.
• Take patient vital signs.
• Obtain authorizations.
• Schedule diagnostic tests and surgery.
• Prepare examination rooms.
• Assist physicians with in-office procedures as needed, including wax removal, biopsies, and surgical procedures; obtain proper consent and follow scope-of-practice requirements.
• Call in prescriptions.
• Clean and sterilize instruments in accordance with CDC and ENTAAF guidelines.
• Brief the physician on each patient before the physician enters the examination room.
• Travel between ENTAAF offices for support purposes when required.
