About The Position

Performs entry-level medical assistant work, carrying out selected clinical duties under the delegation of a physician or RN and providing administrative and basic patient care. Applicants must upload a copy of a high school diploma, GED, or college transcript and a notarized Authority To Release Information Form. Requirements

Graduation from high school or equivalent (GED).
Certificate from a Medical Assistant Program.
Current CPR certification.
Current valid Texas motor vehicle operator’s license.
Must be insurable by the County’s insurance carrier.
Knowledge of operational medical equipment.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Knowledge of basic anatomy and physiology of all body systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work with medically related computer programs.
Ability to maintain effective working relationships with patients, families, staff, and the public.

Nice To Haves

One year of medical assistant-related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Collect, report, and document data during patient intake.
Collect, perform, and document specimen collection, including blood, urine, stool, and tissue.
Perform assigned clinical duties, including preparing patients for exams and treatments.
Administer medications to patients.
Distribute standardized patient education materials and diagnostic referral forms.
Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment.
Follow established departmental policies and procedures.
Perform clerical duties, including setting appointments, answering and directing telephone calls, taking messages, maintaining medical records, and filing patient charts.
Manage inventory of medical and office supplies.
Perform related work as assigned.
