About The Position
The Certified Medical Assistant provides a variety of patient care activities under the supervision of a physician, advanced practice provider (APP), or registered nurse, following established guidelines and standards. Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program or completion of a Nursing Assistant program is required; alternatively, one year of medical assistant or related clinical experience may be accepted in lieu of formal education.
- No experience is required for candidates meeting the stated education requirements.
- Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification is required.
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification from AAMA or a similarly recognized certifying organization, or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) certification from NCTT, is required.
