About The Position

The Certified Medical Assistant is essential during patient visits, accompanying the dermatologist in the room and promoting a friendly and efficient environment for patients, staff, and dermatologists. The role supports dermatology appointments and procedures and helps maintain clean, stocked exam rooms.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Keep current on all state certifications, licenses, and/or registrations required to continue employment.
• Willingness to travel to other clinic locations as needed.
• Proficiency with computers, including Microsoft Office and Electronic Medical Record systems.
• Organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with staff, clients, and visitors.
• Ability to multitask, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a team.

Nice To Haves

• Post-high-school education in a medical support field; Certified Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, or Registered Nurse is strongly preferred.
• At least 1 year of recent experience in a medical office in a similar capacity is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and document vital information.
• Scribe information for the dermatologist.
• Provide post-operative wound care to patients.
• Draw blood and remove sutures.
• Clean and stock exam rooms.
• Schedule patient appointments.
• Assist the dermatologist with procedures, including surgical photographs; punch, DIF, and shave biopsies; excisions; electrodessication and curettage; I&D; Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery; phototherapy; injections; KOH preps; trichograms; Tzanck preps; dermabrasion; patch testing; and blue light.
