About The Position

CoreCivic is seeking a part-time Certified Medical Assistant to provide care in an institutional setting. The position involves administering medication under the direct supervision of the Health Services Administrator, monitoring and reporting patients’ vital signs and conditions, and assisting with examinations, procedures, and treatments. The role also involves working in confined areas and physically checking doors, windows, and other areas to verify they are secure.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED certification, equivalent, or greater.
• State certification as a Medical Assistant in the state of employment, or meeting state guidelines for exceptions to certification.
• Valid driver's license.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Administer medication to inmates or residents under the direct supervision of the Health Services Administrator.
• Obtain, monitor, record, and report vital signs and patient conditions as needed.
• Prepare patients for physical exams, procedures, and treatments.
• Assist nurses and physicians with physical exams, procedures, and treatments.
• Work in confined areas, including working rotating shifts and physically checking doors, windows, and other areas to verify they are secure.
