About The Position

CoreCivic is seeking a part-time Certified Medical Assistant to provide care in an institutional setting. The role includes administering medication under the direct supervision of the Health Services Administrator, monitoring and documenting patients’ vital signs and condition, and assisting with examinations, procedures, and treatments. The position also involves working in confined areas and physically checking doors, windows, and other areas to verify they are secure.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED certification, equivalent, or greater.
• State certification as a Medical Assistant in the state of employment, or qualification under that state's guidelines for exceptions to certification.
• Valid driver's license.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Administer medication to inmates/residents under the direct supervision of the Health Services Administrator.
• Obtain, monitor, record, and report vital signs and the patient's condition as needed.
• Prepare patients for physical exams, procedures, and treatments.
• Assist a nurse or physician with physical exams, procedures, and treatments.
• Work in confined areas, including working rotating shifts and physically checking doors, windows, and other areas to verify they are secure.
