About The Position

CoreCivic is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to provide care in an institutional setting. The role involves supporting healthcare services for inmates/residents under the direct supervision of the Health Services Administrator and assisting nurses and physicians with examinations, procedures, and treatments. The position also includes working in confined areas and physically checking doors, windows, and other areas to verify security.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED certification, or equivalent or greater.
• State certification as a Medical Assistant in the state of employment, or meeting state guidelines for exceptions to certification.
• Valid driver's license.
• At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Administer medication to inmates/residents under the direct supervision of the Health Services Administrator.
• Obtain, monitor, record, and report vital signs and patient condition as needed.
• Prepare patients for physical exams, procedures, and treatments.
• Assist nurses and physicians with physical exams, procedures, and treatments.
• Work in confined areas, including rotating shifts, and physically check doors, windows, and other areas to verify they are secure.
