About The Position

The Certified Medical Assistant supports clinical flow at Westlake Express Care by preparing exam rooms and helping prioritize patient transitions to create a seamless experience for providers and patients. The role measures vital signs and interviews patients to give the care team an accurate, real-time clinical picture before consultations. It also documents diagnoses, orders, and follow-up instructions in patient records and manages supplies and materials needed for uninterrupted patient care. Travel to Georgetown and Pflugerville, Texas, is required as needed.

Requirements

• Obtain BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire or job transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification is accepted.
• Obtain a Medical Assistant credential within 180 days of hire or job transfer from at least one of the following: National Healthcareer Association, National Association for Health Professionals, National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), or American Medical Technologists (AMT). American Medical Certification (AMCA) is also accepted.
• High school diploma equivalency or one year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience; required professional licensure or certification may substitute for education or experience where applicable.
• CMA certified.
