About The Position

The Certified Medical Assistant works closely with physicians, advanced-level providers, and other staff to deliver high-quality patient care. The role includes assisting with examinations and procedures, administering medications, and performing tests under the supervision of a licensed medical provider. In addition to patient-care duties, the Medical Assistant handles front-desk tasks, patient registration, insurance billing, and payment collection/cashiering. The position supports Providence’s mission and core values through respectful, excellent, just, and compassionate interactions.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands-on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants; or completion of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program; or completion of two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces; or at least one year of medical assistant work experience that includes obtaining vital signs, administering injections, and medication administration.
• Washington Medical Assistant Certification upon hire.
• National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association upon hire.
• Six months of healthcare experience.
• Six months of Medical Assistant experience.

Responsibilities
