Certified Medical Assistant
About The Position
The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), also referred to as a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), works in the Cardiology Clinic at Providence Medical Group in Kansas City, Kansas. The role supports clinical and administrative tasks, including taking vital signs, assisting with procedures, updating patient records, and coordinating appointments. Medical Assistants work under the supervision of physicians and nurses in a fast-paced environment to support patient care and smooth clinic operations. This is a full-time, day-shift position with 8-hour shifts from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. No weekends are required.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited school for Medical Assistants or Surgical Technologists, or one year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a physician clinic setting.
- Current BLS certification upon hire and maintained current.
- Current medical assistant credential from a nationally recognized Medical Assistant Credentialing organization.
- Two years of experience as a medical assistant in a clinic setting is required.
Responsibilities
- Greet patients, obtain vital signs, and prepare them for examinations and procedures.
- Assist providers with routine treatments and patient care needs.
- Administer medications and injections as permitted by certification and clinic policy.
- Update patient records, document clinical information, and maintain accurate medical histories.
- Coordinate prescription refills, lab results, referrals, and follow-up appointments.
