About The Position

Florida ENT and Allergy, a division of ENT and Allergy Associates of Florida, is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for a full-time position at its Brandon office. The practice provides general and subspecialty ENT medical and surgical care, including diagnosis and rehabilitative services. This role is suited to an experienced assistant comfortable with in-office procedures, medical terminology, multitasking, and a high volume of incoming patients. The successful candidate is expected to be self-starting and willing to learn about ENT, Allergy, and Audiology.

Requirements

• At least one year of hands-on Medical Assistant experience.
• Current certification.
• Comfort assisting with surgical procedures.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and a clear speaking voice.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to interact professionally with patients, physicians, and team members at all times.
• EMR experience.
• Strong computer literacy.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual ability in Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Answer patient calls.
• Take patient vitals.
• Obtain authorizations.
• Schedule diagnostic tests and surgery.
• Prepare exam rooms.
• Assist the physician in exam rooms with procedures as needed, including wax removal, biopsies, and surgical procedures.
• Obtain proper consent and ensure the proper scope of practice is followed.
• Call in prescriptions.
• Clean and sterilize instruments according to CDC and ENTAAF guidelines.
• Brief the physician on each patient before the physician enters the exam room.
• Travel between ENTAAF offices for support purposes, when required.
