About The Position
Sentara Medical Group—Family Medicine Chimney Hill is seeking a full-time Certified Medical Assistant to join its team in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The CMA supports providers, assists with clinical procedures, and helps create a positive patient experience while collaborating with healthcare professionals to improve community health. The Certified Medical Assistant performs patient-care and administrative or clerical tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations. Duties are delegated and performed under the direction or supervision of a Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant, Registered Nurse, or Licensed Practical Nurse. Clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM. One weekend shift and one closing shift per month are required. The position offers a sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 for qualified candidates. The full-time base pay range is $21.69–$32.14 per hour; additional compensation may be available, and pay within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Less than one year of related experience is required.
- Current, unexpired Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, NRCMA, CMAC, or equivalent) or EMT-Basic certification from an accredited organization.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 90 days of hire.
- One weekend shift and one closing shift per month are required.
Responsibilities
- Perform patient-care tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations.
- Perform administrative and clerical tasks and procedures.
- Support providers and assist with clinical procedures.
- Help ensure a positive experience for every patient.
- Work under the direction or supervision of a Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant, Registered Nurse, or Licensed Practical Nurse.
