About The Position

Sentara Neurology Specialists is seeking a Medical Assistant to perform patient care and administrative or clerical tasks and procedures. Duties are based on the employee’s training, education, and competency evaluations and are delegated and supervised by a Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). The position is full-time, day shift, and located in Norfolk, Virginia. An eligible candidate may receive a sign-on bonus of up to $5,000.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Active CMA, CCMA, RMA, or NREMT-Basic certification.
BLS certification required within 90 days of hire.
One year of clinical or administrative experience.

Perform patient care tasks and procedures within training, education, and evaluated competencies.
Perform administrative and clerical tasks and procedures within training, education, and evaluated competencies.
Carry out delegated duties under the direction and supervision of a Physician, NP/PA, RN, or LPN.
