Duke Health Integrated Practice comprises more than 110 primary and specialty outpatient clinics, extending the reach of the Duke Health mission across the state of North Carolina. $7,500 Commitment Bonus for qualifying candidates! We are seeking a Medical Assistant, Certified or Registered for our Central Carolina Surgery office located in Greensboro, NC to be responsible for the delivery of clinical services, including direct and indirect patient care, patient education, and assisting physicians and colleagues.

Requirements

  • High school or GED graduation required.
  • Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA or ARMA required.
  • BLS required.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduation from accredited Medical Assistant program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Rooming patients and obtaining vital signs, weight, height, and BMI; updating medical histories; documentation of all information in EHR.
  • Communicating effectively with the appropriate physicians details of all patient-related issues by documentation in the patient chart and verbal communication, as appropriate to the situation.
  • Maintaining all work areas, including that area designated as “personal work space” neat, organized, clean, and stocked with appropriate supplies.
  • Stocking lab and clinical exam rooms daily, and notifying clinical manager of needed supplies to be ordered.
  • Unpacking all deliveries and turning in packing slip to the Nurse Manager.
  • Cleaning, sterilization, and packaging of all instruments.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of lab and autoclaves.
  • Assisting physicians with chaperoning, minor procedures, and nurse visits as needed.
  • Complying with all HIPPA and OSHA standards of the Practice and all mandated regulations of federal and state employment standards.
  • Demonstrating regard for the dignity and respect of all patients, family members, physicians, and office personnel.
  • Conducting all work activities and efforts in a manner that is productive and respectful of other team members, and the practice as a whole.
  • Maintaining proper attendance and punctuality so as to ensure that the Practice operates in a efficient and consistent manner.
  • Attending all mandatory staff meetings, both clinical and practice-wide.
  • Following all policies and procedures mandated by the practice.
  • Demonstrates understanding of Infection Control Policies and Procedures and maintains a safe environment for patients and colleagues.
  • Upholding continuing education requirements to maintain individual licensing credentials.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Clinical Manager.
