About The Position

The Certified Medical Assistant assists a physician with the daily operations of the physician’s office. The role maintains efficient patient flow and supports patient care, including exams, procedures, and patient education, under a physician’s direction and supervision. The Medical Assistant performs triage, monitors and records patient vital signs, and ensures medical documentation of office visits. The role may also assist the office and scheduling coordinator in their absence, as necessary. A $2,500 sign-on bonus is offered to new hires only.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program, or three years of relevant work experience in lieu of program completion.
Medical Assistant certification through one of the following: National Healthcare Association (NHA), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT) as a Registered Medical Assistant, National Center for Competency Training (NCCT), American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA), or Healthcare Professional Registry of the US (HPRUS). Certification may be obtained within 90 days.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS).
Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited school, or three years of relevant work experience in a healthcare setting in lieu of the diploma.

Responsibilities

Assist the physician with the daily operations of the physician’s office.
Maintain efficient patient flow and assist with patient care, including exams, procedures, and patient education under the direction and supervision of a physician.
Perform triage and monitor and record vital signs of visiting patients.
Perform EKG and phlebotomy, as applicable.
Ensure medical documentation of office visits.
Assist the office and scheduling coordinator in their absence, if necessary.
Interact with patients, the public, physicians, and other personnel in a friendly, courteous, helpful, and considerate manner.
