About The Position

CoreCivic is seeking Certified Medical Assistants to provide high-quality care in an institutional setting. The incumbent performs the listed functions at a pace and level consistent with job performance requirements, including administering medications under the direct supervision of the Health Services Administrator, monitoring and reporting patient vital signs and conditions, and assisting with examinations, procedures, and treatments. The role also includes working in confined areas and physically checking doors, windows, and other areas to verify they are secure.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED certification, equivalent, or greater.
• State certification as a Medical Assistant in the state of employment, or meeting that state's guidelines for exceptions to certification.
• Valid driver's license.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Administer medication to inmates/residents under the direct supervision of the Health Services Administrator.
• Obtain, monitor, record, and report vital signs and the patient's condition as needed.
• Prepare patients for physical exams, procedures, and treatments.
• Assist a nurse or physician with physical exams, procedures, and treatments.
• Work in confined areas, including working rotating shifts and physically checking doors, windows, and other areas to verify they are secure.
