About The Position

This role is for a Certified Medical Assistant at the Police & Fire Clinic at Providence Hospital in Washington, DC. The position is full-time, working days, Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. The salary range is $21.62 - $28.97 per hour. The Certified Medical Assistant will provide direct patient support, assist providers with examinations, measure vital signs, and execute ordered treatments and procedures. They will also manage clinical and administrative flow, prepare treatment rooms, maintain a clean environment, and handle basic materials ordering and stocking. Accurate documentation, including interviewing patients for medical history, charting information, and transcribing provider orders, is crucial. Additionally, the role involves office management duties such as answering calls and maintaining organized patient records.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Medical Assistant credentialed from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Medical Assistant credentialed from the National Healthcareer Association obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Medical Assistant credentialed from the American Registry of Medical Assistants obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Medical Assistant credentialed from the National Association for Health Professionals obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Medical Assistant credentialed from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Medical Assistant credentialed from the American Allied Health National Certification and Registration obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • Medical Assistant credentialed from the American Medical Technologists (AMT) obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date.
  • High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education OR experience, if applicable.

Responsibilities

  • Assist providers with patient examinations, measure vital signs, and execute ordered treatments and procedures under supervision.

  • Interview patients for medical history, accurately chart all information, and precisely transcribe provider orders for lab tests, radiology, and medications.
  • Handle critical clerical duties, including answering calls and maintaining organized patient records to support a seamless practice flow.
