About The Position

CoreCivic is seeking Certified Medical Assistants to provide high-quality care in an institutional setting. The position involves assisting with patient care and working in confined areas, including verifying that doors, windows, and other areas are secure. The role operates under the direct supervision of the Health Services Administrator when administering medication.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED certification, equivalent, or greater.
• State certification as a Medical Assistant in the state of employment, or qualification under that state's guidelines for exceptions to certification.
• Valid driver's license.
• Must be at least 20 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Administer medication to inmates or residents under the direct supervision of the Health Services Administrator.
• Obtain, monitor, record, and report vital signs and patient conditions as needed.
• Prepare patients for physical examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Assist nurses and physicians with physical examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Work in confined areas, including working rotating shifts and physically checking doors, windows, and other areas to verify they are secure.
