About The Position

This role coordinates patient care with the physician, assists with assessments, administers medications as per physician orders, and handles administrative duties to support patient care. The position involves direct patient interaction, clinical support, and maintaining medical records and supplies.

Requirements

  • High school degree required.
  • CMA certificate required.
  • At least one year of experience in clinical assisting.
  • Comfortable using email and interacting with Internet applications.
  • Knowledge of practice management and word processing software.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Neat, professional appearance.

Responsibilities

  • Greets patients and escorts them to exam rooms.
  • Prepares patients for examinations or treatments and takes vital signs.
  • Assists physicians as requested.
  • Performs Spirometry and other breathing tests.
  • Prepares and maintains supplies and equipment for treatments, including sterilization.
  • Provides patient education when appropriate.
  • Completes documentation in patients' medical records.
  • Calls in prescriptions as ordered by a physician or nurse practitioner.
  • Performs allergy prick testing and/or intradermal testing as ordered by a physician.
  • Administers allergy injections according to a physician-approved schedule.
  • Monitors patients' medical status for adverse reactions after allergy injections.
  • Maintains emergency equipment (oxygen, code kit, suction, etc.).
  • Answers patient-related telephone calls and responds according to clinical protocol.
  • Follows up to obtain referrals and insurance authorization.
  • Maintains clinical supply stock and medication samples.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and complies with HIPAA and compliance guidelines.
  • Maintains knowledge of practice management and other relevant software.
  • Attends required training programs (CPR, OSHA, HIPAA, OIG).
  • Attends all regular meetings.
  • Performs other tasks and projects assigned by the Manager.
  • Completes all assigned AP training within designated timeframes.
  • Complies with Allergy Partners policies and reports violations.
