About The Position

This role is for a Certified Medical Assistant in Gastroenterology at Ascension Medical Clinic in Pensacola, FL. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, day shift. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for welcoming and interviewing patients, accurately measuring and documenting vital signs, and preparing examination rooms. They will also assist with treatments under provider supervision, perform clinical duties, and provide administrative support such as managing patient records, answering calls, and charting. A key responsibility includes documenting provider-patient encounters, detailing diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions, as well as transcribing patient orders for lab work, testing, and medications.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Cross accepted.
Medical Assistant obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
At least one year of experience in a Medical Clinic or Medical Group setting.
Demonstrated experience with patient rooming procedures.

Responsibilities

Welcoming and interviewing patients, accurately measuring and documenting vital signs, and preparing examination rooms to ensure a smooth, comfortable visit.
Assisting with treatments as directed and supervised by the providers
Performing select clinical duties and providing essential administrative support, including managing patient records, answering calls, and handling necessary charting.
Documenting provider-patient encounters, meticulously listing diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions.
Transcribing patient orders for lab work, testing, and medications.
