About The Position

The Certified Medical Assistant supports patient care in gastroenterology at Nashville GI in Nashville, Tennessee. The role helps coordinate patient visits, prepare treatment environments, conduct initial screenings, document vital signs and care information, process orders for laboratory tests and imaging, manage front-of-house communications, and maintain medical supplies. The position is full-time on days. Applicants must be willing to work Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of Medical Assistant experience.
• High school diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience; required professional licensure or certification may be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
• Obtain BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire or job transfer. American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification is accepted.
• Obtain Certified Medical Assistant certification within 120 days of hire or job transfer. Approved credentialing bodies include American Medical Technologists, National Healthcare Association, National Center for Competency Testing, National Association for Health Professionals, and American Association of Medical Assistants.
• Must be willing to work Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment environments and conduct initial screenings to help patients feel welcomed and ready for care.
• Accurately document patients’ vital signs and care information to support clinical decision-making.
• Transcribe and process orders for laboratory tests and imaging and facilitate follow-up services.
• Manage front-of-house communications.
• Maintain medical supplies.
