About The Position

Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a compassionate, patient-focused Certified Medical Assistant II or Licensed Practical Nurse to join their dynamic Urgent Care team. This is a part-time position for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced healthcare environment and are passionate about delivering exceptional patient care. The role involves working alongside experienced providers and clinical staff in a busy urgent care setting, providing high-quality care and support to patients of all ages. Responsibilities include rooming patients, obtaining and documenting vital signs, administering injections, performing venipuncture and specimen processing, conducting urinalysis and EKG testing, and assisting with in-office procedures. Additionally, the role requires preparing and cleaning procedure rooms, maintaining infection control standards, safely disposing of biohazard and sharps waste, and ensuring clinical supplies are stocked. As a CMA II, there are opportunities for training in basic radiology and IV starts for professional growth.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Must be a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with an active certification with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
  • Aware of standards of cleaning and performs in accordance with them
  • Ability to relate and work effectively with others
  • Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards
