About The Position

This position involves performing direct clinical activities under the direction of a physician, Charge RN, or Manager. Responsibilities include patient intake, blood draws, pharmacy calls, EKGs, and other physician-required tests. Accurate documentation in an EMR system is essential, adhering to licensure and VMG policy. The role also encompasses front desk activities such as greeting, registering patients, ensuring insurance compliance, collecting payments, managing the daily patient schedule, and handling incoming calls for appointments, medication refills, or inquiries. Coordination with clinical staff for patient flow and support for practice and professional staff as directed by the Practice Manager are also key aspects of this role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a formal Medical Assistant program recognized by the State of New Jersey.
  • Certification required.
  • Completion of formal coursework in office management, database management, or business.
  • Six (6) months of previous customer service/data entry, administrative/office management/clerical experience required.
  • Current and valid certification as a certified medical assistant or registered medical assistant recognized by the Board of Examiners (e.g., AMT, AAMA, NCCT) required.
  • Ability to use effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills (oral, written, presentation).

Nice To Haves

  • Previous MA experience in a clinic, physician's office, or outpatient setting preferred.
  • BCLS certification preferred upon hire, will be required.
  • Understanding of the operations of a medical practice preferred.
  • Strong orientation towards the provisions of high quality, cost effective and comprehensive medical care.

Responsibilities
