As a Y Lifeguard, you will help create a safe, welcoming, and positive aquatic environment for members, guests, and program participants. You will monitor the pool, respond to emergencies, enforce safety requirements, and support the daily care and operation of the aquatic area. The role requires alertness, dependability, calm emergency response, clear communication, consistent enforcement of pool rules, and the ability to work independently while contributing to an aquatic team. Flexible availability is needed for opening, closing, and weekend shifts. The anticipated pay range is $16–$22.17 per hour. Placement within the range depends on relevant experience, education, qualifications, and internal equity. Eligible lifeguards may earn up to $400 in new-hire bonuses: a $100 sign-on bonus after completing onboarding and training, remaining actively employed for at least 30 calendar days, maintaining valid lifeguard certification, and working at least two priority shifts per week during the eligibility period; and an additional $300 retention bonus after at least 90 calendar days of active employment, subject to the same certification and priority-shift requirements. Priority shifts include opening, closing, and weekend shifts. Eligibility is verified against employment, certification, training, and scheduling requirements, and bonuses are subject to applicable payroll withholdings.
