About The Position

This is a full-time position with day-to-day duties that include providing project oversight in an Occupational Health and Industrial Hygiene setting. Candidates must possess their Certification in Industrial Hygiene (CIH). All applicants will be verified for active certifications before progressing to the next step of the interview process. You will be responding to client requests for proposals, developing new clients/opportunities, pursuing strategic initiatives, supervising and mentoring junior staff, and performing industrial hygiene work, including worker exposure assessments, health and safety audits, indoor air quality assessments, moisture intrusion and mold assessments, source and ambient air quality testing, and litigation support. Requirements

  • Certification in Industrial Hygiene (CIH)
  • 7 or more years of professional Industrial Hygiene experience in consulting services or equivalent.
  • 2 or more years of prior supervisory experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in core science (e.g., chemistry, biology, etc.) or equivalent
  • Strong client development and management skills
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to identify and pursue strategic opportunities
  • Strong organizational skills and exemplary written and verbal communication skills
  • Performs work in an ethical and defendable manner
  • Ability to accommodate and adjust to changes in the scope of work and schedule
  • Strong computer aptitude, including fluency with MS Office Applications and Adobe
  • Strong understanding of Cal/OSHA, OSHA, DOT, and EPA Regulations and their applicability
  • Ability to work within a schedule and meet deadlines

  • CSP is preferred.
  • Advanced degrees and/or certifications (CDPH, CAC, Lead Inspector/Risk Assessor)

Responsibilities

  • Consults with clients, preparing, soliciting, and marketing proposals for billable work.
  • Initiates and creates programs for clients to recognize, eliminate, and control occupational health hazards and diseases.
  • Conducts evaluations of chemical, physical, and biological hazards.
  • Collects samples of dust, gases, vapors, and other potentially toxic materials for analysis.
  • Investigates adequacy of ventilation, exhaust equipment, lighting, and other conditions that may affect employee health, comfort, or efficiency.
  • Creates and presents reports regarding the work environment.
  • Recommends precautions and corrective actions that should be taken in response to identified hazards.
  • Facilitate compliance with occupational health and safety (OSHA) guidelines.
  • Preparing written reports and submitting deliverables to clients.
  • Assists in the development of operating procedures and service lines.
  • Provides the Accounting Department with all necessary information to bill for projects.
  • Develops and mentors the staff.
  • Other duties as assigned.
