Certified Home Health Care Aide (CHHA)
About The Position
Pines Village Assisted Living is seeking compassionate and reliable Certified Home Health Aides (CHHAs) and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) to provide personalized care to residents. The role supports residents with daily living activities, comfort, safety, and well-being while promoting independence. Care Partners collaborate with healthcare professionals to follow individualized care plans, observe and report changes in residents’ health, and provide respectful, empathetic care. The position also emphasizes companionship, clear communication, and maintaining a positive, resident-focused environment. The posting lists full-time openings on day and evening shifts, a part-time overnight opening, and per-diem opportunities across shifts. Full-time shifts are 7:00 AM–3:00 PM and 3:00 PM–11:00 PM; the part-time shift is 11:00 PM–7:00 AM. Starting pay is $20.00 per hour, with shift and weekend differentials.
Requirements
- Valid Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) or CNA certification recognized in New Jersey.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to pass background checks and health screenings required by state regulations.
- Ability to perform the physical tasks associated with patient care.
- Strong communication skills and basic literacy to document care accurately.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience as a Home Health Aide or in a similar caregiving role.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Additional training or certification in specialized care areas such as dementia or palliative care.
- Bilingual abilities to communicate with diverse patient populations.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Provide basic health-related services, including monitoring vital signs and reporting changes to nursing staff.
- Support medication reminders and adherence under the supervision of healthcare professionals.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients in their homes.
- Document care provided and communicate with the healthcare team to support continuity of care.
- Provide emotional support and companionship.
- Follow safety protocols, infection-control standards, and patient-confidentiality requirements.
