CHHA, Certified Home Health Aide
About The Position
BAYADA Home Health Care’s ACSP Division is hiring Home Health Aides (HHAs/CHHAs) to serve clients in Camden, Burlington, Gloucester, Cumberland, and Salem Counties. Aides provide compassionate, one-on-one care in clients’ homes based on a written plan of care and under the direction of a registered nurse. The role supports clients in remaining safe, comfortable, and independent at home. Training may be available for qualified candidates, including opportunities and assistance with the New Jersey Board of Nursing CHHA application process. Training classes are available for $300, all-inclusive. Virtual and in-person interviews are available. Spanish-speaking candidates are welcome.
Requirements
- Be compassionate, patient, dependable, and respectful.
- Be passionate about helping others and committed to providing quality care.
- Be able to travel to clients’ homes as assigned.
- Be comfortable working independently with clients.
- For experienced HHA/CHHA applicants, hold a current CHHA/HHA credential in good standing with the New Jersey Board of Nursing.
- Previous caregiving or home health experience when required for the position.
Nice To Haves
- Previous home health care or patient care experience; experience is welcome but not always required.
- Spanish language ability.
- Willingness to complete CHHA training; training may be available for qualified candidates.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one care according to a written plan of care under the direction of a registered nurse.
- Assist with bathing, grooming, toileting, dressing, and personal hygiene.
- Prepare meals and assist with feeding.
- Provide medication reminders.
- Perform light housekeeping, laundry, bed making, and other household tasks.
- Assist clients with ambulation and transfers.
- Assist with range-of-motion exercises.
- Check vital signs.
- Provide companionship and emotional support.
- Help clients maintain independence at home.
