About The Position
Lighthouse Hospice is seeking a part-time Hospice Aide (CNA/HHA) to provide hands-on care to hospice patients, supporting their comfort and dignity at the end of life. Working closely with the nursing team, the aide helps meet patients’ physical, emotional, and personal needs with respect, empathy, and professionalism. The position covers the Mercer County area and is scheduled Monday through Friday, 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Lighthouse Hospice describes itself as a mission-driven, patient-centered provider of end-of-life care focused on supporting patients and loved ones with comfort, compassion, dignity, peace, and human connection. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid Certified Home Health Aide (HHA) license or valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license.
- Current CPR certification if required by the state.
- Current driver’s license and vehicle insurance, and access to dependable transportation.
Nice To Haves
- At least six months of experience in hospice or a skilled nursing facility; hospice experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Follow the plan of care to support patients’ comfort and well-being, and promptly respond to requests from patients and their families or caregivers.
- Assist patients with personal care, including bathing, oral hygiene, changing bedding and clothing, and shampooing.
- Provide exceptional customer service and work to ensure patient satisfaction.
- Share knowledge and expertise with families, guiding and supporting them in caring for terminally ill loved ones.
- Maintain accurate documentation in patients’ homes and in accordance with agency and regulatory standards.
