Provides radiation dose distribution plans to Radiation Oncologists, using physical data from treatment machines and patient setup. Generates plans using beam modifying blocks, wedges, and bolus material to optimize dose distribution covering tumor volume. Translates treatment plans for therapists' implementation on treatment unit. Performs medical physics tasks under the general direction of the medical physicist, when requested. A Certified Medical Dosimetrist in the Radiation Oncology Department must be capable of operating radiation-producing equipment utilizing radiation safety measures. Must be able to perform a series of complex and precise technical procedures. Must be able to design a treatment plan by hand calculation and by computer. We are seeking a Medical Dosimetrist to join our collaborative team of 5 physicians, 3 physicists, 5 dosimetrists, and 1 physics resident in a high-quality radiation oncology program. Our current patient load is 80 to 100 patients per day across 3 linacs. Position Overview This role offers the flexibility of remote work following initial onsite training. The selected candidate will be required to spend 4 to 6 weeks onsite to learn departmental workflows, systems, and planning standards before transitioning to a primarily remote role.
