About The Position

Texas Oncology is looking for a MDCB Certified Medical Dosimetrist to join our TXO The Woodlands team! Requirements

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in planning VMAT, IMRT, SBRT/SRT, and 3D plans

Nice To Haves

  • Credentials as a Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD)
  • Two years of experience with Eclipse TPS
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Prior work in a Varian linear accelerator environment

Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the radiation oncologist and medical physicist, use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to develop, generate, and evaluate treatment plans using computer software and manual calculations based on prescribed target region and avoidance dose criteria.
  • The Dosimetrist may use a wide variety of patient imaging modalities registered to the planning images, which assists in the identification of physician delineated target structures and critical structures to be avoided.
  • Support and adhere to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
  • Must be able to generate radiation therapy treatment plans in a timely manner using computer software and various imaging modalities, demonstrating strong attention to detail.
  • Must be able to adapt to ever-changing technology and be open to learning new systems and techniques.
  • Must be able to perform routine duties independent of supervision but consult with the Radiation Oncologist and Medical Physicist as required.
  • Must be able to consult and communicate with the therapists regarding the implementation of the treatment plan including: the correct use of immobilization devices, field arrangement, and other treatment variables.
  • Must be able to perform or supervise the design and fabrication of immobilization devices, beam modifying devices (i.e., compensating filters, bolus, molds, custom shields, etc.) and treatment planning aids.
