About The Position

Nebraska Medicine is seeking a talented individual to join us as a Dosimetrist - Proton. This role is ideal for someone passionate about radiation and providing excellent customer service to patients. The position will be based at the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center in Omaha, NE, with the possibility of remote/hybrid work. We are looking for experienced Dosimetrists, preferably with Proton knowledge. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical dosimetry, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and strong communication and teamwork abilities. This position offers a unique opportunity to be part of the development of a new proton therapy program, including training in proton therapy, designing and implementing clinical workflows with a multidisciplinary team, and contributing to program operations. For the first two years, the position will be fully onsite to establish workflows, after which it may transition to a hybrid model.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Graduate of an approved AMA program in medical dosimetry or radiation therapy technology program required.
  • Certified Medical Dosimetrist (CMD) or registry eligible required.

  • Aria Experience Preferred
  • VMAT Planning Experience Preferred
  • Clinical experience as a dosimetrist or radiation therapist preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in radiation therapy technology, or health related field, preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint preferred.
  • Medical dosimetry computer applications preferred.
  • ARRT Registered Radiation Therapist preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Generate radiation dose distributions and calculations to provide radiation treatment plans, in accordance with the radiation oncologists' prescription.
  • Assist in simulation, brachytherapy and specialty procedures as directed.
  • Participate in the clinical and didactic instruction of students.
