The Terrace is a skilled nursing facility that cares for older adults who need extra support. Some residents are here short-term to recover after surgery or illness, while others live there long-term, including those with Alzheimer’s or memory loss. The Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) plays a pivotal role in the recovery and dietary needs of patients/residents, influencing their nourishment and providing a home-like environment with tasty, nutritional, and appealing food. This role involves managing a team, menu planning, managing and ordering stock, adhering to IDPH regulations, and providing hands-on support in a busy commercial kitchen. The work is meaningful and appreciated by residents and staff.
